Fully Custom Development

Custom Motorcycle Carbon Fiber Brake Levers

MEGA motorcycle levers are custom-developed products rather than selectable off-the-shelf designs. Each project is evaluated according to the customer’s geometry, mounting interface and target load requirements. Integration conditions can also be reviewed in conjunction with the customer’s metal lever mount, pivot hardware or related assembly components.

  • Evaluation based on customer-specific design requirements
  • Designed around mating-part and assembly requirements
  • Feasibility evaluation for converting metal designs to CFRP

Experience Evidence

Motorcycle Product Engineering Experience

MEGA distinguishes completed motorcycle product experience from automotive concepts that still require project-specific engineering and validation.

17-Inch Rim

Heavy-Duty Motorcycle Spoked Wheel

Product development and relevant JASO testing have been completed. MEGA has practical experience integrating the carbon rim, spokes and center hub.

Two-Piece Rim

Motorcycle Rim Development

MEGA has research, development and production experience with 10-inch and 12-inch single-wall, two-piece motorcycle rims.

Custom

Custom Motorcycle Levers

Each lever is developed around its mounting interface and load requirements. Customer-specific geometries are not offered as public or off-the-shelf designs.

Custom Feasibility Evaluation — Not an Existing Production Case

Two-Piece Automotive Carbon Fiber Wheel

This concept combines a carbon fiber outer barrel with a separate metal center section. Project evaluation may include wheel diameter, tire configuration, rim width, center-section interface, applied loads and required test standards.

The carbon fiber outer barrel can serve as a structural platform, while different metal center designs may be developed to create application-specific configurations.

  • Separate carbon fiber outer barrel and metal center section
  • Re-evaluation for automotive or electric vehicle interfaces
  • Tooling, validation, MOQ and production conditions confirmed individually

Initial Information for Automotive &
Motorcycle Carbon Fiber Projects

Complete CAD files are not required before a confidentiality agreement has been signed or before the project enters the engineering phase. Basic product information is sufficient for both parties to determine whether further discussion is appropriate.

Rim and Wheel Assembly Projects

Initial information may include the vehicle category, wheel diameter, tire configuration, rim width, operating conditions, estimated loads, required test standards, target volume and development schedule. If the project uses an existing hub or center section, a preliminary interface concept may also be provided.

Rim safety and validation requirements depend on the vehicle, tire, payload, speed and complete wheel assembly. Feasibility cannot be determined from appearance or one dimensional specification alone.

Structural Component and Lever Projects

If engineering drawings are not yet available, requirements may first be described through text, photographs, an existing part or basic dimensions. Necessary engineering data can be discussed after the cooperation direction has been confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Automotive & Motorcycle
Carbon Fiber Product FAQ

Does MEGA currently have an automotive carbon fiber production case?

MEGA currently has no automotive production case that can be publicly disclosed. Therefore, the automotive content on this page is presented as custom feasibility evaluation and does not claim that MEGA has completed mass production of an automotive product.

How can MEGA evaluate an automotive project without a public production case?

MEGA previously conducted an automotive wheel feasibility analysis through an SBIR project. Some molding principles may be transferable between product categories; however, laminate architecture, interfaces, tooling and validation conditions must be redesigned for the automotive application.

Existing experience with carbon fiber rims, custom structural components and composite process development is used to determine whether a project is suitable for further engineering. Motorcycle experience is not treated as a substitute for automotive validation.

Are standard motorcycle carbon fiber brake lever designs available?

No. Carbon fiber levers are custom-developed according to the required geometry, mounting interface and applied loads. Customer-specific designs are not offered as public tooling or selectable catalog models.

Are CAD files required for an initial inquiry?

No. Initial contact may include company information, product application, basic dimensions, target specifications, estimated volume and schedule. Engineering data can be discussed after the potential cooperation direction has been confirmed.
